Family-Thinking of you card...using Mojo Mondays sketch #307

This is my interpretation of the Mojo Monday sketch #307.

I wanted to make a card featuring the CTMH September Stamp of the Month "Poster Tidings" and I have to say...I had a hard time as it is not one of my favorite stamp sets. This sketch was great because I figured I could just highlight a portion of the stamp set with some autumn colored paper (I LOVE the Huntington paper)

I covered over a few of the words above and below "Family" because they didn't go with the card at all, but I left the pumpkin and chocolate chip cookies...cause honestly when it comes to fall and family...those are some of the comforts from home :) The picture doesn't show it very well but I used the beautiful Bronze Shimmer Trim-it already has the adhesive on it...so easy to use!!!

  I used 3D Foam Tape to give some dimension and I also curled the tips of the banners for the same reason. The shape is cut from the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. The "bling" is from the Small Sparkle Flourishes.

Chocolate...Cotton Candy...and Champagne...ooohhhh yummy!!!!

Did I get your attention??? I know I'm drooling with anticipation :)

Here are a few cards that I just "whipped up" with the ingredients mentioned above...

This one I scored the Chocolate card stock to make it look like a candy bar and then wrapped it in aluminum foil, I tore the "wrapper" and tried to cut the corner to make it look like someone had taken a big 'ole bite out of it. In case it's hard to see the inside of the card says "Chocolate Understands" - isn't that the truth...it sure doesn't judge if you've had a hard day and just need some comfort :)

For this card I used the new Make It From Your Heart Volume 2 Idea/Pattern book. There are some AMAZING ideas in this...for scrapbookers and for cardmakers alike! I just randomly stamped the candies on Champagne cardstock to make the background paper and then colored in a few with the Cotton Candy Alcohol Markers and cut them out to add some dimension.

June Stamp of the Month ~ A Flowering Bunch

The June Stamp of the Month is a "unique" mix of flowers and quotes.

Here is a thank you card that I made using it and the Chantilly Paper Pack.

 Everything is from Close To My Heart except the border...I used one of my punches for that. I wanted to keep it simple because I am using this as one of my cards for "swapping" at our upcoming convention (I made 25 of these...I was going to do more...but I get bored quickly with that much inking of the edges!) The inside is stamped along the bottom with second generation stamping of the flowers, unfortunately that picture didn't turn out. 

What can I say...I'm a crafter...not a photographer :)

I used some of our 3D Foam Tape to add some dimension to the "Thanks" banner.

Thank You stamp...all proceeds to help with the Oklahoma tornado relief!!!

Is this not one of the coolest stamps EVER!!! I know...you may think it's kind of plain to look at...but it's not just about the stamp. Close To My Heart is releasing this stamp early (it is a new item for the upcoming idea book) and they are donating all of the profits for sales between May 23 to June 30 to the American Red Cross to aid the Oklahoma tornado victims! That is awesome and is just one of the MANY reasons I love Close To My Heart!!!

Finding my niche in our new "simplified" life...

My husband and I have taken a huge step in to a so-called "simplified" life!

We have been in our new home (RV) for just over two weeks now and I think we are finally getting settled...Maverick (our four-legged kid), however is not adjusting very well at all!!! Even though we are in an RV...we are not going on the road...we are staying on my husbands parents property. In part to help them, but it is for our benefit also. When getting ready to move in we were a bit nervous about all of the things we had to sell/donate/trash...but it is amazing how much stuff you collect that you NEVER use. That being said...I am still shedding a few tears over my lack of craft space!

I have been so afraid of crafting because...honestly...how is it possible to not spread out and make a mess when the creative juices start flowing??? I am happy to say that I found some motivation today! After going through the Close To My Heart blog hop for the new Stamp of the Month and seeing so many awesome creations...I just HAD to break out the paper, stamps and ink...and so the mess begins...(I did clean it up already-this place is way to small for a big mess-no matter how much fun it was/is to make)

And here is my creation, it's kind of plain and simple but I love how it turned out (the lighting is horrible in here so the picture doesn't do it justice.) I used CTMH "Surf's Up" paper, Play Day stamp set and the May SOTM. I had to cut the pinwheel down some because it was way to big for the little girl. I also used some bling to dress it up a bit!

To add a little dimension, the card has a window cut out so the sun rays are on the inside.
